This is the oldest pastry shop in Porto. Sometime ‘oldest’ means ‘terrible because we are resting on our history’. Not here, we ordered several different pastries and each was amazing. It made us realised how bad the other pastries we’ve eaten in Porto are.It was very busy though, so we did take away.

Horrible, had to drink coffee out of a used cup. Had to wait 45 min for our order even though it was ready. When we asked where the food was, they got angry and insulted us in Portugese. When we got our food, we got things we didnt ask for. Wish I could give 0 stars. Tried to charge us way more than we had.

Really beautiful bakery but the service was very confusing and when we sat down and waited so long for anyone to acknowledge us my husband went to the bar to order as a lady told us to. Then a grumpy waiter came up to us quite agressivley and said "HOW LONG WERE YOU WAITING FOR HUH????". We felt like naughty school children and it was very embrasssing as he shouted. We were with my parents who are in their 70s. Very disrespectful and I think they dont give non-portuguese the same service and respect as locals (even though we live in Portugal and speak the language which we did so very politely back). He threw his hands up and ignores us for the rest of service. There are many confeitarias in Porto that value their clients so Id not go here and choose somewhere where they dont make you feel small.

It was close, but the pastel de nata was the best I tried in Porto .The building design inside and out was old fashioned and interesting. The service was a bit slow .

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! When we arrived, I told the lady at the entrance that we’d eat here, so placed all the pastry we ordered on a plate. I also ordered 2 coffees with her, and she passed the order to her colleagues. She was really nice to me. Now once at the cafeteria, before sitting down, I ordered 2 coffees again, and there’s this bearded man who told me TWICE: with my colleague and pointed at his colleague which was busy going from one side to the other. At some point, he was saying “I don’t know, I don’t know”, making a gesture as if it has nothing to do with him. I had been waiting at the table, seeing my order on their countertop for 15 minutes now. The way he replied upset me. I understand that maybe there are certain people who can only take orders and that they were busy, but oftentimes, waiting for orders, they just had to stand up. And that man did not offer to help and was RUDE to me.I sat down, kept waiting. 25 minutes after we sat down for the first time, they brought us the food. Coffees were nowhere to be seen. I asked his colleague, the one taking the orders, to bring us two. He confirmed, and left. We saw a bunch of people coming much later after us getting their full orders, while we were starving, waiting for our coffees so we can enjoy the whole breakfast. I went to the bar and said to him: please get us our coffee, we’ve been waiting for over 30 minutes now. 10 more minutes, they finally came. And they came like this (look at the pictures). I have seen other people’a coffees, properly made, and it was obvious that they forgot about us despite the number of times I’ve patiently asked them to bring us our order. He apologized, and I told him it was okay, because at leas he wasn’t rude. But my mom’s coffee was spilled, and they both didn’t have any froth at all. Never in my life did I have to get upset like this in a restaurant, and I have waited and waited, and behaved in a polite manner. I’m sure the rest of the people here had a nice experience. We did not. And will not return.

I was received by the man in the counter right away. He helped me to choose the pastry, he even went with me outside to tell me the name of the pastry I wanted!!! This is great service. I recommend the pastel de nada and the Brazilian pastel! Lots of products sold in Venezuela. Like Toronto chocolate , salsa de maíz Fritz , chocolate Carré and more! Will definitely come back for moreAvoid AT ALL COST to eat in the restaurant, after 45 minutes my food never arrived.

Quite shocked by the service. We sat in and we’re served by a short male waiter. The guy clearly hates the public as he made us uncomfortable with his rudeness and hostility. The cakes are good just like the hundred other cake places nearby. I’d recommend giving other businesses your money.

AMAZING. Loved everything about it. The service is great, a lot of bread choices, they taste amazing, the prices are good and you can sit at a table to eat. The place is also very pretty. There might be a lot of people in the morning but it calms down around 11am.

Very nice cafe with good pastries. It may be a little confusing trying to determine to sit in or takeout. If you sit in, the cafe has a really nice aesthetic in the back. I enjoyed our Pasteis De Nata with a dash of cinnamon.

This historic bakery was on our hit list so we definitely stopped in for some pastries & coffee. There were many pastries, sandwiches, & dessert options, & they didnt have an english menu avail so we picked what looked familiar & tasty. The best by far were the bolinhos de bacalhau (salted codfish croquettes), the rest were either too sweet or tasted stale. Even in the early morning, it was super crowded & lively. Most of the seating get quickly filled. Due to high foot traffic, expect a wait-time before sitting down & ordering. Theres a separate take out line for those who arent dining in. If i ever come back, id probably go in the evening to avoid the chaos.

Pastries taste good, but the service was a complete chaos. We got there around 10am, ordered 2 drinks and 3 pastries - had to wait 45 minutes until we got our order. There was only one waiter who was extremely overwhelmed, attending groups of people, taking their orders, serving foods, and cleaning all alone. We could see he was completely stressed out.Would recommend to go in if it is not so full. To be fair, pastries were delicious. (But you can find better nata somewhere else.)

We visited this place twice when we were in Porto! I am in love with their Tigelinhas do Bolhao - make sure you try it if the server doesnt recommend it to you! We sat in the cafe area both times that is located in the back section. First time we went, it wasnt busy and there are open tables so we were able to sit down and a server promptly came to take our orders. Second time, it was extremely busy so we waited by the pastry case until we were seated by a server. The pastry were delicious and the coffee was solid. There are many sweet pastries to try, but do not forget to also order the savory pastries! When you finish ordering, the server will place a card with a number on your table. Take that card to the cash register after eating to pay for your meal.

Perfect place for a little snack or coffee while shopping. The order in english was somehow understood and I could even choose the bread for my Tosta Mista with ham & cheese. It was so delicious and didnt even cost 3€. Thats the way it has to be!

Excellent places for a sweet Portuguese breakfast. Prefer to stick with the sweet breakfast stuffs - as I believe they excel in there better than the toasts and non-sweets. But a must visit with excellent service, interior, food choices and price.

We found this place on a quest to find a specific kind of bread, but stumbled upon the best Pastel de Nata in Portugal (and we tried a lot, including Belem). Very cute and historic establishment with every confection you can imagine and full service dining in the back. Order pastries in the front, then sit down at a café table to order drinks (the fresh orange juice and hot chocolate are excellentor more substantial foods. Prices are very reasonable, too.Once we found this place, we ate here every day until we left Porto. Do yourself a favor - your Pastel de Nata hunt is over!

The usual chaos I learned to expect in any Portuguese bakery (anywhere in the world). Products have no name so you have to guess and everything looks delicious. They have a lot of things to choose from, what we had was good, and the service quite quick for being so busy.

We discovered this place through the internet and it ended up being great. The Pastéis de Nata are amazing and they have all sorts of pastries. If you want to have a delicious breakfast in Porto I would totally recommend you to pass by here. The place is mostly quite full, but that is a sign of their good quality.

We discovered this place through a "10 things to do in Porto" blog and at first I was thinking to myself, yeah Ill go there at least once.We came to Porto for 5 days and I have been here every single morning. The food is fresh (baked in-houseand you have a lot of options so that you dont even have to repeat what youre eating everyday - even though I would suggest you get the croissant daily. The other main thing is that its pretty cheap; we (2 peoplewould spend 7€ and be stuffed until lunch. The atmosphere is very nice as well. Honestly I cant think of a single reason why someone wouldnt like this place.

Wonderful place in the center of Porto. Pastry stuff here is amazing, and the inside is really nice, looks like an historical bar or bistrot. You can find there plenty of bakery product, from bread of all types to traditional "sandwiches", pastels de nata and many variations of it, and of course a lot of different sweet product. You need to step inside and taste these specialties, also because prices arent high at all!
